Log Cabin Gift Shop

Double Blessing Gift ShopThis circa 1840 cabin is located on the approximate site of the original LeFleur’s Tavern Inn. In 1879, Benjamin F. Ramsey purchased the cabin; it was subsequently passed by inheritance to Wilburn Huffman, who had married a Ramsey. Originally located two miles south of French Camp, this “dogtrot” cabin (named for the breezeway through the center) was the first structure moved to the French Camp Historic District (in 1975). FCA staff and students oversaw the renovations of the cabin, which is one of the increasingly rare dogtrots remaining in the United States. One side of the dogtrot is home to the Historic District’s Hospitality Room, and the other half serves as the Huffman Log Cabin Gift Shop. The Gift Shop offers handmade arts and crafts, quilts and other unique items, as well as craft demonstrations.  Students and local artisans make many of the items offered for sale. The Gift Shop is an outreach ministry of FCA, and profits support the students of French Camp Academy. To finish your tour, you’ll want to hunt for bargains at Double Blessings Thrift Shop.

The Log Cabin Gift Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
