Family Essentials
The family unit is important to French Camp Academy because we believe that it is a God-ordained institution forming the bedrock of society.
Strong, healthy families create an atmosphere where young people learn lifelong values about relating to God, interacting with peers, serving their country, and reaching out to a hurting world.
When young people come to live and learn at French Camp Academy, we join with families or guardians to promote Christian family ideals. A key strategy in French Camp's success has been a commitment to a family-based ministry model in our student homes. Each of our 12 homes is staffed with a Christian couple (husband and wife). Young people experience how healthy marriages can work. When mature Christian adults model healthy relationships, students learn new ways of relating, which can result in changed lives. This is consistent with deliberate Christian discipleship.
During the course of a week, a student home will enjoy a number of activities together: daily devotions, meals around a common table, worship at the local church, swimming, camping, horseback riding, and a host of other fun things. As young people engage in "family-time" activities with houseparents and others in the student homes, they build experiences that can be translated to a future marriage or family.
Another important element in our partnership with families is providing resources that promote marriage and family growth. Currently, French Camp Academy is developing seminars and conferences for families interested in growing. To learn more about future events, please see our Parenting Resources page.
Developing strong, healthy families is an important element of the French Camp ministry. Please partner with us by praying, giving, and volunteering to promote Christian family concepts.
