Boarding and day students have many opportunities for sports and recreation at FCA by competing against Mississippi public schools in our division. The school offers junior varsity and varsity sports programs in football, basketball, cross country, softball, track, and tennis. Volleyball, swimming, tennis, basketball, horseback riding, and hiking are a few of the free time activities.
Through our Equine Program, students take riding lessons, learn to care for the horses, go on beginner and advance trail rides, and are taught vaulting and barrel racing. The new covered horse arena makes riding possible even in inclement weather. This facility includes a 232’X110’ riding arena with fans. Two wings measuring 200’X35’ bring the completed size to 38,320 sq. ft. Plans include stalls for over 35 horses, offices, restrooms, and a wash stall. Classrooms and a bunkhouse will finalize the project.
Choral music is offered as part of the curriculum. Private lessons are available in piano, violin, fiddle, guitar, and voice.
Art and theater classes are part of the curriculum. Each year the school produces a play and invites the public to the performances.
Volunteer and paid work opportunities are available at the Council House Café, WFCA radio, Rainwater Observatory, Double Blessings Thrift Shop, Children of God Pottery Studio, and the horse program.
