Annual French Camp Pioneer Day – May 10, 2008

FRENCH CAMP, MS – The annual French Camp Pioneer Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the historical village in French Camp, MS.

The mission of the French Camp Pioneer Day is to organize an annual, first class event; to support pioneer style arts and crafts in Mississippi, the beauty of acoustic instruments, their history and prevalence in the South, and to promote the annual festival throughout the state, creating an on-going resource that serves to support the ministry of French Camp Academy.

Among the activities featured are chair caning, leather working, candle making, basket weaving, civil war weapons, lots of food, plenty of live dulcimers and acoustical music.  We strive to show what life was like in the 19th century through living history presentations all through the day.  The event is open to the public.  Concessions will be available.

For more information, please contact Keith Collier at 662-547-6835.
